BHS is hosting a parent night for parents with students enrolled in Virtual Arkansas classes tomorrow, October 3, 2022 at 6pm in the HS Seminar Room (Room 127.) This meeting will show parents how to become an observer in their child’s online course-to see grades, late assignments, missing assignments, and course work. BSD and Phillips County Health Department are hosting an on campus flu clinic on Thursday, October 6th. Forms were sent home with students and must be turned in by tomorrow, October 3rd, if you want you child to receive their flu vaccine.

Parents, Guardians, and Students,
We understand that students love viral challenges. Viral challenges, however, are not acceptable at school. Students are not to share food with other students and outside food is not allowed at school unless it is a student's lunch or appropriate snack which cannot be shared. Students are bringing "One Chip Challenge" chips to school and are going home sick due to this "challenge." Please do not allow your students to bring these chips to school. Students in possession of the "One Chip Challenge" will face disciplinary actions. Thank you for your help and understanding with this issue.

Barton Bears will host the Fordyce Redbugs for homecoming tonight, 9/23/22, at Frank McClellan Field. Homecoming events are as follows:
Pep Rally/ Afternoon Ceremony: 2:30
Homecoming Coronation: 6:30
Kick Off: 7:00
Halftime Performance: Mini Cheer Camp Participants with BHS Cheerleaders

National Anthem will be performed by BHS Choir. Alumni band members will be performing during the game with the current band members. Go Bears!!
Mini Cheer Clinic practice starts today!! Practice will be from 3:30 - 4:30 Tuesday through Thursday. Cheerleaders will meet the students that signed up in the cafeteria and escort them to the indoor facility after school. Students will need to be picked up from the indoor facility no later than 4:30. Students will perform during the pep rally on Friday at 2:30pm and again at half-time during the game that evening. Next Friday, 9/23/22, during homecoming, Barton Band is inviting alumni band members to participate with our current band. Anyone wishing to participate please contact Mr. Byrd at sbyrd@bartonsd.org with instrument and shirt size, if you would like a homecoming shirt reserved.
Barton Lady Bears volleyball will host Palestine-Wheatley today, 9/15/22. Serve at 4:30. All volleyball teams will play. Helena World will provide the live stream.

If the form is not completed by Monday, September 19th, Barton School District will assume you agree with the following:
You have reviewed the student handbook
Your student's picture can be posted online and in the school yearbook
Your student can use school devices to access the internet
Your are denying insurance coverage of school issued devices and assume the responsibility of the cost of the device if it is damaged
Your student's directory information can be shared to public entities like US Military
Your student may access and use the Library Media Center
Your student does not have access to internet at home
Your student may be seen by the school nurse
The school nurse may administer medications to treat minor injuries and illnesses for your child that may occur at school
